City man escorted out of latest council meeting

Craig Gaetani is handcuffed and removed from the City Council meeting.

PITTSFIELD — Local political gadfly Craig Gaetani was removed from City Council chambers Tuesday, placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct after refusing to step away from the microphone during the council’s open speak portion of its meeting.
Gaetani, a longtime critic of city government and a mayoral candidate in the 2015 election, approached the microphone to speak, but council President Peter Marchetti informed him that he arrived after the 7 p.m. meeting start time, was not signed-up to speak, and that he would have to sit down.
