Education task force advances with Berkshire County study

DALTON — The Berkshire County Education Task Force is moving forward with the second phase of its  county-wide education study, which will be in partnership with the District Management Council.

The DMC, which is based out of Boston and has worked with more than 150 school districts across the nation, was the only group to respond to a Phase II request for proposal, according to BCETF meeting minutes. Other groups’ responses, the minutes read, indicated they “could not submit a proposal at the budget or timeline specified.”

According to BCETF minutes, Phase II will cost $135,000. Payments will be made to DMC monthly – $22,500 each month – for six months.
